Undoubtedly, an impeccable nutritional plan is a key element in my development in the world of padel, a true ally in optimizing my performance. Healthy meals revolutionized my career as a player, following a path carefully charted by my nutritionist. Initially, the first three months were a sometimes surprising adventure and, I have to say, a few challenges were thrown at my willpower. But as time went by, I learned to embrace new flavors and make them an integral part of my daily routine.
The dawn of my day now comes with egg whites, avocados, and even peanut butter – a real culinary breakthrough! This mix of nutrients keeps me energized throughout the day, allowing me to face my commitments on the field with constant vitality. The change, although gradual, has brought remarkable improvements in my performance, giving me optimal resistance.
Variety in my diet is a constant, adapting to the needs of the day. A busy day with three training and gym sessions might start with energy pancakes, followed by bresaola as a snack and plenty of chicken and rice for lunch. Afternoon snacks could vary from bresaola to bars, while dinner could be steamed fish and calamari. Or, alternatively, I can follow a completely different diet with yogurt, hemp seeds, chia and peanut butter, depending on the needs of the day.
This food discipline is now a staple in my life and far from being a burden, it has become the key to my success on the field. On “days off”, treating yourself is like a reward, whether it be a post-tournament carbonara or something similar. I have learned that although precision is key at crucial moments, treating yourself is a necessary part of maintaining mental and physical balance.
Ultimately, my culinary adventure has become an essential component of my athletic training, turning what I put on my plate into a key element in my success. A journey that, with its mix of challenges and pleasures, helps make each victory on the field even more exciting. My diet, from an initial daunting task, is now a celebration of taste and health, imbued with passion for my sport and well-being.
